Chars Consulting is committed to making our website welcoming and usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is part of how we think about care and inclusion, and we are always working to improve. This statement explains what we do, where we know we still have work to do, and how to reach us if something is getting in your way.
Our commitment
We want every visitor to be able to find information, understand our services, and reach out for support without barriers. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which is a widely recognised standard for making web content more accessible. We are also mindful of Canadian accessibility law, including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), since we serve clients across Canada, with many in Ontario and Alberta.
What we do to support accessibility
We have built and maintain this site with accessibility in mind. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Using clear, semantic HTML so screen readers and assistive technologies can understand the structure of each page.
- Supporting keyboard navigation so the site can be used without a mouse.
- Aiming for sufficient colour contrast between text and background so content is easier to read.
- Providing descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
- Respecting reduced-motion preferences for people who are sensitive to movement and animation.
- Using a responsive, mobile-friendly design that adapts to different screen sizes and devices.
- Writing in plain, warm language wherever we can, so information is easier to follow.
Known limitations
We want to be honest: we are not perfect, and accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a finish line. Some older content, documents, or features provided by third parties may not yet fully meet our goals. Where we find gaps, we work to fix them, and we welcome you telling us about anything that does not work well for you.
